| Each of the colorful cards is satin varnished with rounded corners for durability and each card has a patterned word list printed on the back. The images are carefully selected and have been field tested in diverse educational settings to provide an easily recognizable and phonemically accessible cue for the individual grapheme being represented. The cues include the 26 letters of the alphapbet, short vowels, consonant blends, digraphs, endings and vowel combinations, open-syllable, long vowels, vowel-consonant-e, and less common single vowel sounds. The individual cards provide the format for the teacher/tutor/parent to customize their lesson and simplify instruction. |
